How to Apply Discipline and Action

Every act of self-discipline moves you toward your goals and every exception takes you off course. Taking action is a must when it comes to achieving your goals along with reading and studying your goals. It’s all about taking that first step which is action and for most people is the hardest thing to do. But once we take that first step on the first day, the days to come get easier and easier to take action. This in return will now help in building your self-discipline.  Any exceptions of this allow your goals to just remain dreams and writing on paper.

If you don't discipline yourself, you are sure to be disciplined by others. If you don’t believe me, purchase a car; make payments only for a few months and see how fast they will come take your car which will discipline you in the future to make the payments. Well the same thing applies to your goals or business. Whenever you lose discipline and patience, you lose focus on your goals. You have to become a seller and your first customer is yourself. You have to sell yourself on the power of your goal; your visions for what is possible and believe it can happen. Once the belief level is there you will start disciplining yourself to take the proper actions daily to reach your goals.

Bad habits are the gravitational pull of your emotional life and overcoming them is not easy. Change is not so easy but you have to be willing to except the challenge. The key is to F.O.C.U.S. Follow One Course Until Successful. Stay focused, break the bad habits that are present to create a better future. How bad do you want it? That’s a great question to always ask yourself when you come against obstacles or set backs. Your WHY or answer to that question will help break those bad habits and build self-discipline in taking proper actions. Self-discipline is an act of cultivation and it requires you to connect today's actions to tomorrow's results.

There is good and bad news about self-discipline. The bad news is it’s easy to just give up. It’s easy to say I will continue the next day or I am tired which both are excuses to take the easy way out. The good news is it actually takes less energy to remain discipline than to regain it because it becomes a good habit. Some people think there are only bad habits but there are good habits too. For example if you take a shower every day that’s a good habit, if you don’t that’s a bad habit (hopefully you do).

Everyone struggles with self-discipline. Remember your WHY and ask yourself “How bad do I want it?” The discipline you establish today determines the successes you'll enjoy tomorrow.
