Attitude Makes The Difference

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, gifted ability, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day. We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the one string that we have and this string is, attitude. I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how i react to it. And so it is with you...WE ARE IN CHARGE OF OUR ATTITUDES.

Charles Swindoll

Attitude makes all the difference when it comes to our personal and business success. You can have a positive attitude or a negative attitude. Having the right attitude is very important but i think some people get positive thinking misunderstood when it comes to attitude. Some people believe with positive thinking you can do anything which is not true. I can positively think i can lift a 18wheeler truck. Now that positive thinking will enable me to maximize my skill to do it, but all the positive thinking in the world will not allow me to just lift up the truck. So what will positive thinking do? It will let you use your ability and experience to the maximum, that is realistic of course. Believing that positive thinking will allow you to do anything just produces false hope and disaster. Unrealistic expectations are the seedbed of depression.

There is also significant confusion about negative thinking as well. People think negative thinking is speaking of a problem or challenge, recognizing that you have a problem. Would you want your doctor to tell you the lump in your thigh is a cyst because he doesn't want to be negative and tell you it's cancer? I know i don't! Negative thinking is when you use unproductive words such as "This is a hopeless situation," or "There's nothing i can do." The picture these words paint in your mind will stop your creative imagination and could create even bigger problems than the one you may already have.

An important part of attitude is you got to make an effort to develop and maintain a positive attitude. This means feed your mind positive food. Inputting positive things into your mind on a daily basis which in return keeps you motivated.
