The Early Bird Gets The Worm

I'm sure everybody has heard the saying "The Early Bird Gets The Worm." But how much truth is there to that? Does that just to apply to birds? I believe there is a lot of truth to it and no it doesn't just apply to birds. That saying can apply to our personal and professional lives every single day. Do you sleep in everyday, are you following up with your leads, are you consistently posting to your blog, i even find myself sometimes guilty of that last one.

To be successful and the early bird you have to be a go getter. You have to wake up in the morning with a burning desire to be productive, ready to work. You can't be a procrastinator, procrastinators favorite phrases are " I'll do it tomorrow" or "I'll do it in a little bit." No you have to do it now, you have to call back your leads now, you have to post on your blog today, you have to have that burning desire to accomplish and achieve your dreams or goals. Once you have that desire, that will fuel your drive. That's the early bird, that is the person who is hungry, Les Brown says it best "You have to be hungry!" You have to be on top of your game, ready to recruit, ready to follow up, not later but now. Do you want to be the early bird or the worm? The worms are the people who procrastinate, who don't follow up, who don't have a recruit mentality, they have goals and dreams but don't have a burning desire to accomplish and achieve them. The worms don't last too long, they quit, they complain, they're lazy, everything is too hard for them.

Start being the bird, start doing what it takes to be successful, to become a better you. Find that passion that's deep inside that's going to drive you. Surround yourself with early birds. Stop being the worm! Whoever arrives first has the best chance of success; some opportunities are only available to the first competitors.
