If You Want To Grow Your Business Remain Teachable!

Many people reach a level of success or achieve a desired position and think that's it. They think that there is no need to learn and continue growing. News Flash my friends, the day you stop growing and learning is the day your business stops growing. You see, your growth determines who you are, who you are determines who you attract, who you attract determines the success of you and your business. Effective leaders cannot afford to stop growing because that will be the day their business stops growing.

Effective leaders do not let past success affect current or future growth. What got you this far will not keep you headed in the same direction, you have to remain teachable. To keep growing, to keep achieving success you have to be willing to pay the price to get it. That's when the question is raised, how bad do you want it? For anything with value in life you have to pay a price, then you have to have a desire to pay it.

If you want to grow your business remain teachable. Teachability requires us to admit we don't know everything. Not only do you have to keep learning, you have to keep making mistakes. But as writer and expert craftsman Elbert Hubbard said, "The greatest mistake we can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one." You cannot be prideful and teachable at the same time.

Now don't get this confused, he who makes no mistakes makes no progress, however those who make the same mistakes makes no progress either. So it's very important you are learning from your mistakes. You have to learn to forget your mistakes but remember what they taught you. If you don't you will pay for them more than once, NEVER PAY TWICE FOR THE SAME MISTAKE!

To approve your teachability ask yourself, do you admit your mistakes? Do you apologize when appropriate? Or are you defensive? Write down your answers to these questions, observe yourself. Get opinions from friends or business partners. If you react badly or you make no mistakes at all, you need to work on your teachablily. The best way to grow and remain teachable is to try something new. Do something that will stretch you mentally, emotionally and physically. Challenges changes us for the better, if you want to really start growing make new challenges part of your daily activities. If you want to grow your business remain teachable.

President and CEO of Respironics, Inc, Gerald McGinnis once said, "Value your listening and reading time at roughly ten times your talking time. This will assure you that you are on a course of continuous learning and self-improvment."
