Do You Need Some CHANGE?

Change is not easy, but it is simple. Things will always change. We don't have a choice about that, but we do have a choice on how we react to change. The choice really boils down to this: Either we manage change, or it will manage us. I have learned to realize change is inevitable so we have to be ready to go with it. The best thing is to accept change and focus on the new not the old. Sometimes we have to also change ourselves which may be for the better. That could be breaking old habits, doing new things, reading new books. These may involve things you didn't do before that is beneficial for you to do now. Those are forms of changes.

Change is an emotional process. We are all creatures of habit who usually resist it, and welcome routine. Uncharted waters are scary! In the long run, however, sameness is the fast track to mediocrity. And mediocre won't survive. Tuli Kupferburg said it best..."When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge." which my friends is so true. The key is to follow the path of most resistance NOT least resistance. Change is doing the things you always thought you couldn't do, the things you thought were too hard or would make you feel uncomfortable. Start getting out of your comfort zone. Sometimes change is a MUST or we experience insanity, doing the same things you’ve always done and expecting different results. Put it this way: If you are disappointed in any area of your life, whatever choices you have been making aren’t working.

Change is the key that unlocks the doors to growth and excitement in any organization. And, most importantly, without it, your competition will pass you by. A big part of success as a leader will be your ability to inspire your team to get out of their comfort zones; to assure them that even though they are on a new path, it's the right path, for the right reasons.

Change takes planning, commitment, patience, and courage. If you want to finally obtain what’s missing from your life, you need to stop always doing what you feel like doing and start doing the things that make you uncomfortable, the stuff you avoid and the things that you think are hard. If you dedicate yourself to only doing the things you don’t want to do, all day long, your results would shock and amaze you and everyone around you.
