Do You Want More Sales? Become A Better Listener!

I always felt i was a good listener, as i get older and learn more i am continuing to grow to become a better listener than i was 10 years ago. I will admit, at this point of my life i am still only a adequate listener.

Effective listening is the key to creating quality conversations, which in return can help you create more sales. There is more to effective listening than just not interrupting someone while they're speaking. You have to listen to everything the person is saying patiently. Now I said patiently and i know some of you are asking yourselves what does he mean by that. It means being content to listen to the entire thought of someone rather than impatiently waiting for your chance to respond. You see my friends, effective listening creates effective communication. A lot of times we treat communication like it's a race to see who can prove their point or come up with a conclusion of the conversation first. Sometimes if i am out at a restaurant, I'll listen to the conversations going on around me, i notice no one is really conversing with each other, they're taking turns not listening. It's amazing how the quality of a conversation can improve when you apply effective listening.

When you become a better listener the conversations you have begin to flow smoothly with two people not battle talking or competing for airtime to say what they want to say. Becoming a better listener allows you to make the person you're listening to feel comfortable, they feel relax and they feel that you really care about what they are saying. It relaxes and takes the pressure off you as well, instead of thinking of what to say or respond back with, you actually apply effective listening skills we talked about in earlier. Start enhancing your quality of relationships by becoming a better listener.

Do you want more sales? Become a better listener! A lot of us do not close are prospects because we're not listening to what they are telling us. We're not listening to the needs and concerns a prospect may have. Some people become so busy in trying to get people to sign up or purchase their product without knowing what the customer or prospect wants or needs. Then we lose the sale because we weren't effectively listening. At one point of time everyone has at least falling guilty to this, including myself. I once heard one of my mentors say that listening is a lost art, i believe that to be true in today's world. My friends, do you want to win? Do you want more sales and to grow your business? Start becoming a better listener, not just in your business life but also in your personal life. Then begin to watch the quality of your relationships and conversations grow! Everyone loves to talk to someone who truly listens to what they are saying.
